Applies to creosote obtained from coal tar by high temperature carbonization of coal above 900 degrees Celsius, in two types according to properties determined by tests described in appendices and primarily dependent on source of materials. The creosote is suitable for application by brushing, impregnation or spraying.

This specification applies to creosote obtained from coal tar derived from high temperature carbonization of coal above 900C. The creosote is for the preservation of timber and is intended primarily for land use.
