Specifies the uniform minimum requirements for manufacturers, designers, regulatory authorities, testing laboratories and similar organizations for the safety, performance and use of pressure and temperature limit devices for use with gas burners. These pressure and temperature limit devices are intended for use with natural gas, town gas, tempered liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied petroleum gas.

These requirements apply to pressure and temperature limit devices intended to be used with gas or multi-fuel burners.Compliance with these requirements does not imply acceptability for use without supplemental tests in an intended application.A limit device incorporating electrical components shall comply with the requirements of the appropriate electrical authority.Requirements for mechanically operated over-pressure and under-pressure cut-off devices are published in AS4632.
