Estimates the mean of a normal population based on a series of tests applied to a random sample or grouped and ungrouped data. Tables of factors for calculating one- or two-sided confidence intervals from the sample standard deviation or range.

This International Standard specifies the statistical treatment of test results needed to calculate a confidence interval for the mean of a population.
