Composition, thickness, mechanical and physical properties. Suitable for sealing mating faces of components but not suitable for use with potable water.

This British Standard specifies requirements for the materials and manufacture, thickness and mechanical and physical properties of a paper based type of jointing and for a cork and paper based type of jointing.

Appendix A gives information to be supplied by the purchaser.

NOTE 1 Type 1 and type 2 jointings are not suitable for use with potable water.
