Gives recommendations for the minimum density in colour positive prints, lighting contrast in the original photography, the colour balance of 35 mm and 16 mm films and slides, and for the optical viewing conditions for their assessment.

These recommendations relate to the density range, contrast and colour balance of colour positive films and slides for transmission by colour television, and to the optical viewing conditions for the assessment of such films and slides.

NOTE Throughout this standard, the term “films?? embraces “slides?? also.
