Basic requirements, functional and maintenance features and dimensions. Guidance on selection and use is given in an appendix.

This British Standard specifies basic requirements for the design and construction of reservoirs used in hydraulic fluid power systems.

Certain functional and maintenance features are included which provide manufacturers with freedom of design within the specified basic requirements. The standard is not applicable to reservoirs intended for use with category HFA fluids*. Guidance for the selection and use of reservoirs is given in appendix A.
