Provides recommended practices for repairing laminated windscreens damaged by impacts. Applicable to heavy goods vehicles, coaches and passenger cars.

This British Standard gives recommended practices for repairing laminated windscreens damaged by impacts. It applies to heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), coaches and passenger cars.

Recommendations include:

the type and size of damage that can be repaired;
the area on the windscreen in which repairs of particular types and size can be made;
procedures for the repairer;
steps to assess the quality of finished repairs;
reports and records for completion and retention by the repairer.

This standard does not apply to special types of glazing such as bullet-resistant glazing and glass–plastics glazing.
