Questa Norma fa parte della serie EN/IEC 60862 riguardante i Filtri d'onda acustica superficiale (SAW): essa in pratica è una guida per l'utilizzo di tali filtri che trovano impiego nelle telecomunicazioni, sistemi di misura, radar, prodotti di consumo ed inoltre comunicazioni TV, comunicazioni satellitari, comunicazioni su fibre ottiche, comunicazioni mobili. La Norma descrive diversi tipi di configurazioni di filtri SAW con frequenze comprese tra 10 MHz e 3 GHz. Sono descritti i filtri a risonanza, i materiali per i substrati, i livelli di ingresso, le limitazioni, le condizioni di impedenza e di saldatura, ecc.
