Applies to the design of pipe interrupters, pipe disconnectors, and anti-vacuum valves for fittings mounted in drinking water installations as specified in DIN 1988 Parts 1 to 6 (at present at the stage of draft) for use in both cold and hot water systems. Anti-vacuum valves in composite fittings are also subject to the specification of the present standard.
