A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

The freeze-thaw cyclic test is used for testing the behaviour of stone when subjected to the cyclic action of freezing and thawing. The results of the freeze-thaw cyclic test, in conjunction with other tests and investigations, provide a means for assessing resistance to weathering (see DIN 52106). See also Explanatory notes.
