The test methods described serve to determine the effect of fluids on the mechanical properties of glass fibre reinforced plastic pipes. Method A is determined to be used for initial for basic tests to determine the behaviour of moulding material under the simultaneous action of a chemical fluid and compression, whilst Method B may be used for comparative testing, in particular as part of internal control or third-party inspection. Both methods permit an assessment to be made as to the influence of aggressive fluids on pipes under compression, the results determined being useful for designing glass fibre reinforced plastic pipes.
