Dadurch können digitale Daten mittels Lochstreifen zwischen verschiedenen Lochstreifengeräten und Datenverarbeitungsanlagen ausgetauscht werden. Der Lochstreifen 25 ist in DIN 66016 Teil 2 genormt.
