ULTRASONIC PROBES: MEDIUM FREQUENCY, MINIATURE SHEAR WAVE, ANGLE PROBES
23-07-2013
12-01-2013
Details the performance required of both single and twin crystal, shear wave angle probes whose face size does not exceed 33 mm in either dimension and whose total crystal area exceeds 50 sq.mm, with nominal beam angle between 36 deg and 70 deg and with actual operating frequency between 3.4 and 5.5 MHz. In the case of twin crystal probes the Standard is limited to those probes for which the length of each crystal does not exceed 2.5 times the width of each crystal. Probes generating short pulses, as defined in 3, 'Definitions', are not covered by the Standard. Does not cover probes whose shoes have been contoured for special applications, but probes should meet the Standard prior to being contoured.
