Presents Bellcore's preliminary view of proposed generic requirements on security for interfaces between Operations Systems (OSs) and Network Elements (NEs) when the communications architecture is based on the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model. The intention of this document is to present Bellcore's initial view on how to secure OSI-based OS-NE interfaces and to solicit early comments from the industry. To familiarize readers with with the on-going standards work on security, this document also provides some tutorial information. Requirements contained in this document are generic and high level, as opposed to detailed specification.
