TIRKS SYSTEM FUNCTION CODING PROCESS AND GUIDELINES GENERIC REQUIREMENTS

Published date

12-01-2013

Bellcore have devised a broad range of operations support systems (OSSs) to support total network provisioning, i.e., the planning, inventorying, assigning, provisioning, monitoring etc of the telephone networks used by Bellcore client companies (BCCs). The TIRKS system is one of these OSSs, and is used for circuit order control and provisioning plus inventory management of facilities and equipment. A key element of the circuit provisioning process is the use of a Function Code to select the correct equipment to be used on a special services or message circuit or carrier system. This GR addresses the TIRKS system function coding procurement methods needed by the suppliers to request the development of the TIRKS system function codes.
