Tout en reconnaissant la disparit des diverses normes de langage, le prsent Rapport technique a pour but de fournir des lignes directrices pour la prparation des clauses de conformit pour les processeurs et les programmes dans les normes de langage de programmation. On a jug qu'il n'tait pas possible de fournir des dclarations types qui pourraient tre incluses dans toutes les normes de langage. On a donc donn des exemples pour illustrer le type de rsultats qui devraient tre formuls et l'on prvoit que ceux-ci seront adapts le cas chant pour tre inclus dans une norme de langage particulire. Il convient de se rappeler, la lecture de ce document, que tous les concepts ne sont pas applicables tous les langages. Par exemple, les normes de langage ne spcifient pas toutes des sous-ensembles, ou ne permettent pas toutes des extensions, et des lments qui sont entirement spcifis par une norme de langage peuvent dpendre du processeur dans une autre.
