Deze Euronorm omvat een beschrijving van de werkwijze voor de uitvoering van een proef voor de bepaling van de interkristallijne aantasting in een salpeterzuur milieu (zgn. Huey-proef), alsmede een omschrijving van de doelstellingen. Deze proef ter bepaling van de weerstand tegen kristallijne aantasting geldt uitsluitend voor corrosievast austenitisch staal, in de vorm van gewalste of gesmede producten, bestemd voor gebruik in een oxyderend zuur milieu (bij voorbeeld sterk geconcentreerd salpeterzuur).
