Deze Euronorm betreft het controleren van meettoestellen voor de hardheidsmeting volgens Brinell zoals beschreven in Euronorm 3 "Hardheidsmeting van staal volgens Brinell". In deze Euronorm worden twee methoden beschreven: - de directe methode: methode waarbij het mogelijk is de voornaamste functies van het meettoestel te controleren; - de indirecte methode: methode voor het controleren van het meettoestel met behulp van ijkblokken. Deze laatst methode wordt ook toegepast bij de routinecontroles van de in gebruik zijnde meettoestellen.
