Gives field methods for measuring the impact sound insulation properties of building floors with the use of a standard tapping machine. The method given is applicable to bare floors and also to floors with coverings. Results that are obtained can be used to compare the impact sound insulation properties of floors and to compare the apparent impact sound insulation of floor with specified requirements.
