Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM enthält die besonderen Anforderungen an den Aufbau und die Prüfung eigensicherer elektrischer Systeme in Schutzart 'i', die vollständig oder teilweise für den Einsatz in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen der Gruppe II vorgesehen sind. Das vorliegende Schriftstück ist zur Anwendung vom Konstrukteur des Systems vorgesehen, der ein Hersteller, ein Fachberater oder ein Belegschaftsangehöriger des Endanwenders sein kann. Die vorliegende Norm ergänzt die EN 60079-11, deren Anforderungen für elektrische Betriebsmittel gelten, die in eigensicheren elektrischen Systemen verwendet werden. Die Anforderungen an die Errichtung eines Systems der Gruppe II, das nach der vorliegenden Norm ausgelegt ist, sind in EN 60079-14 festgelegt.
