Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt für die Sicherheit elektrisch betriebener, gewerblicher Dunstabzugshauben, die zur Befestigung über gewerblichen Kocheinrichtungen wie z. B. Herden, Bratplatten, Kontaktgrills und Friteusen vorgesehen sind. Die Geräte sind nicht für den Hausgebrauch bestimmt, ihre Bemessungsspannung beträgt nicht mehr als 250 V für Einphasen-Dunstabzugshauben betrieben zwischen einem Aussenleiter und dem Neutralleiter, und 480 V für andere Dunstabzugshauben. Nur einzelne komplette Einheiten und Dunstabzugshauben, die als separate Teile geliefert werden und zusammengebaut eine komplette Arbeits-Dunstabzugshaube bilden, fallen in den Anwendungsbereich dieser Norm.
