Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM legt Anforderungen für die Abnahme und die Prüfungen von Stellventilen fest, die in Übereinstimmung mit den Normen der Reihe IEC 60534 hergestellt werden. Diese Norm gilt nur für Stellventile bis zu einem Nenndruck Klasse 2500 (PN 420). Die Anforderungen für Stellantriebe sind nur auf pneumatische Stellantriebe anwendbar. Diese Norm gilt nicht für die Bauarten von Stellventilen, die für radioaktiven Betrieb, unter Sicherheitsanforderungen im Brandfall oder unter anderen gefährlichen Betriebsbedingungen eingesetzt werden. Wenn eine Norm für gefährliche Betriebsbedingungen im Widerspruch zu dieser Norm steht, so hat die Norm für gefährliche Betriebsbedingungen Vorrang. Diese Norm kann nach Vereinbarung zwischen Käufer und Hersteller auf höhere Druckbemessungen erweitert werden.
