A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Descrive un metodo per determinare la solubilità della pasta in soluzioni fredde di idrato di sodio a differenti e fissate concentrazioni. Le concentrazioni di idrato di sodio usate più di frequente sono 18% e 10% (m/m). Il metodo ha lo scopo soprattutto di controllare le paste bianchite ma può essere usato anche per le paste gregge, per esempio nei differenti stadi della fabbricazione della pasta bianchita.
