Diese Norm ist eine Leitlinie zur Wartung von Siliconflüssigkeiten in Transformatoren mit Betriebsspannungen bis zu 35 kV, und es ist beabsichtigt, dem Betreiber zu helfen, die Beschaffenheit der Siliconflüssigkeit während ihres Einsatzes im Betriebsmittel zu bewerten und die Flüssigkeit im betriebstauglichen Zustand zu halten. Verfahren, die Siliconflüssigkeiten für Transformatoren wiederaufzubereiten, werden umrissen. Die Norm behandelt nur Siliconflüssigkeiten, die in Betriebsmitteln verwendet werden, bei denen eine Probenahme möglich ist und die vorher nicht mit irgendeiner anderen Flüssigkeit gefüllt waren.
