Diese Internationale Norm legt die Prüfverfahren für die Analyse von einigen typischen Zellulose-Isolierungsabbauprodukten in Isolierölproben fest, die elektrischen Betriebsmitteln entnommen wurden. In Mineralöl gelöste Furanverbindungen werden durch Hochdruckflüssigkeitschromatographie (HPLC) analysiert. Vor der HPLC-Analyse werden Furanderivate mit Hilfe von geeigneten Lösemitteln (Verfahren A) oder mit Hilfe der Fest-Flüssig-Trennung durch Silicagel-Säulen (Verfahren B) aus dem Öl extrahiert.
