Diese Norm behandelt die Sicherheit elektrisch betriebener, gewerblicher Dunstabzugshauben, die zur Befestigung über Herden, Bratplatten, Kontaktgrills, Friteusen und ähnlichen gewerblichen Kocheinrichtungen vorgesehen sind und die nicht für den Hausgebrauch bestimmt sind und deren Bemessungsspannung nicht mehr als 250 V für Einphasen-Dunstabzugshauben betrieben zwischen Phase und Nulleiter, und 480 V für andere Dunstabzugshauben beträgt.
