Diese Norm erfasst keine Kettensägen, die zur Verwendung mit einer Führungsplatte und einem Spaltkeil vorgesehen sind, oder die auf irgendeine Weise, wie mit einem Ständer, als stationäre oder transportable Maschine verwendet werden. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Kettensägen zur Baumpflege, wie sie in ISO 11681-2 definiert sind, für Stangenschneider und für Astsägen.
