This Standard sets out recommended maximum fluid velocities in pipeline systems in ships.The pipe materials considered are steel, copper, copper-nickel, and aluminium brass. The pipes are of drawn or extruded construction.Fluids considered are steam, seawater, freshwater, lubricating oil, fuel oil, and air.NOTE: The figures in this Standard are formulated on the basis of merchant ship standards of quality and workmanship and general grades of pipe.
