Defines the minimal set of bearer services for ISDN primary rate interfaces; takes into account the telecommunications environment in the US. The bearer services defined in this standard are the minimal set of bearer services that are to be supported by public networks for ISDN primary rate interfaces. These bearer services are described and defined in CCITT Recommendation I.211. The minimal set of bearer services defined in this standard include circuit-mode digital, circuit-mode speech, and circuit-mode voiceband data.
