Provides minimum requirements for the manufacture and maintenance of railroad equipment. Part I covers the general requirements for welding in the railroad industry. Part II covers specific requirements for welding on railroad freight cars other than tank cars. Welding on freight cars will be as required in Part I except as specifically detailed in Part II. Part III covers specific requirements for the welding of locomotives with emphasis on the welding of base metals thinner than 1/8 in. (3.2 mm).
