METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF WATER ABSORPTIVENESS OF PAPER AND BOARD (COBB METHOD)

Superseded date

15-12-1994

Published date

23-11-2012

Gives a method for determining the water absorptiveness of sized paper and board and corrugated fibreboard, under standard conditions. It may not be suitable for paper of grammage less than 50 square g/m or embossed paper and is unsuitable for porous papers. Does not provide precise evaluation of the writing properties of paper but it does generally indicate suitability for use with aqueous inks. BS AMD 8174 RENUMBERS THIS STANDARD TO BS EN 20535
