Gives two titrimetric methods for determining total iron content in iron ores using potassium dichromate after reduction of the trivalent iron by tin, chloride or hydrogen sulfide. Applicable to a concentration range of 30 to 72% of iron in natural iron ores, and iron ore concentrates and agglomerates including sinter products. For an unknown ore, it is recommended that the iron content be determined by both methods to check that the tin chloride reduction method is satisfactory. Covers references, principle, reagents, apparatus, sampling and samples, procedure, expression of results and test report. Includes four annexes.
