Die Mehrzweckstrahlrohre sind genormte Feuerlöscharmaturen, mit denen man das Löschmittel Wasser als Voll- oder Sprühstrahl mit für die Brandkämpfung zweckmässiger Ausflussgeschwindigkeit und Form abgeben kann. Sofern ein Mehrzweckstrahlrohr mit Mannschutzbrause ausgestattet ist, dient es auch zum Schutz des Strahlrohrführers gegen Wärmeeinwirkung.
