Diese Norm gilt für aufblasbare Boote mit eigenem Antrieb und weniger als 1800 N Auftrieb, unabhängig von den verwendeten Materialien, im Folgenden kurz Boote genannt, die für die Benutzung im Badebereich oder in geschützen und gesicherten Uferzonen bestimmt sind. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Wasserspielzeug (Wasserspielzeug in Bootsform) nach DIN EN 71. Diese Norm legt Mindestanforderungen an Sicherheit und Gebrauchstauglichkeit fest. Boote über 1800 N Auftrieb siehe DIN EN ISO 6185.
