Die Technische Spezifikation legt Aufschlussverfahren und instrumentelle Bestimmungsverfahren zur Gehaltsbestimmung von Hauptelementen (Al, Ca, Fe, K, Mg, Na, P, Si, Ti) in festen Sekundärbrennstoffen fest. Die exakte Bestimmung des Gehaltes an Spurenelementen in festen Sekundärbrennstoffen ist aus umweltbezogenen und technischen Gründen sowohl in der Produktions- als auch der Verbrennungsstufe wichtig. Die Bestimmung von Hauptelementen, wie z. B. Al, Ca, Fe, Mg, P, K, Si, Na, Ti, kann für die Vorhersage des Schmelzverhaltens und der Schlackebildung von Asche hilfreich sein.
