Diese Norm legt die Eigenschaften von hermetischen festen Steckverbindern mit quadratischem Montageflansch in der Familie der elektrischen Rundsteckverbinder mit drei-gängiger Gewinde-Schnellkupplung fest. Sie gilt für die in Tabelle 3 angegebenen Bauformen. Die Kontakte sind nicht lösbar und haben einen Lötanschluss. Hinsichtlich der freien Steckverbinder und Schutzkappen siehe EN 3645 008, EN 3645 011, EN 3645 012 bzw. EN 3645 006. Diese Steckverbinder wurden von der Bauform Y in der Spezifikation MIL DTL 38999/21 abgeleitet und sind mit dieser austauschbar.
