Diese Norm legt die Eigenschaften von festen Steckverbindern mit Mutternbefestigung in der Familie der elektrischen Rundsteckverbinder mit drei-gängiger Gewinde-Schnellkupplung fest. Sie gilt für die in Tabelle 3 angegebenen Bauformen. Hinsichtlich der freien Steckverbinder und Schutzkappen siehe EN 3645-006, EN 3645-008, EN 3645-011 und EN 3645-012. Hinsichtlich der für diesen festen Steckverbinder verwendbaren Blindstecker und rückseitigen Zubehörteile siehe EN 3645-002. Diese Steckverbinder wurden von den Bauformen W, F, J, M und K in der Spezifikation MIL-DTL-38999/24 abgeleitet und sind mit diesen austauschbar.
