In diesem Teil der DIN EN 60749 ist ein Prüfverfahren festgelegt, mit dem man in der Lage ist, das Verhalten von oberflächenmontierbaren Bauelementen für Anwendungen in tragbaren elektronischen Geräten (Handhelds) bei Beanspruchungen durch einen freien Fall einzuschätzen und zu vergleichen, wobei unter beschleunigenden Prüfbeanspruchungen durch das übermässige Durchbiegen einer Leiterplatte Geräteausfälle verursacht werden.
