Leistungseinstufung für Kupplungen werden festgelegt, um die Einteilung der Kupplungsarten in Gruppen entsprechend den unter spezifischen Belastungsstufen auftretenden maximalen Spannungen zu ermöglichen. Diese Internationale Norm steht in direktem Zusammenhang mit API RP: 16Q, die die Auslegung, Auswahl und den Betrieb der gesamten Bohrförderanlage auf See behandelt.
