Elaborates a family of codes and formats to be generated and processed. This standard will be used as a complement to Publication 625-1 and is intended to ensure the highest possible degree of compatibility between different manufacturers products and the interconnection apparatus and equipment. It also defines codes and formats that will minimize the generation of application software as well as system configuration costs. A limited family of preferred message codes and formats is defined.
