Diese internationale Norm beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Schüttdichte von Waschpulvern durch Messen der Masse eines gegebenen Volumens. Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf frei fliessende Pulver sowie, vorausgesetzt es wird ein geeigneter Trichter verwendet, auch auf Pulver, die zum Verkleben neigen. Das Verfahren ist auch für alle anderen in Pulver- oder Granulatform vorliegenden Substanzen geeignet. Falls das Pulver Klumpen enthält, ist das Verfahren nur dann anwendbar, wenn die Klumpen leicht und ohne Zerstörung der Pulverteilchen zerfallen.
