Proposes the adoption of IEC 947-3:1990 as an Australian Standard, with the addition of Australian Appendix AA, which applies to switches, disconnectors, switch-disconnectors and fuse-combination units to be used in distribution circuits and motor circuits of which the rated voltage does not exceed 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. The provisions of the general rules are dealt with in Part 1 (IEC Publication 947-1 which has already been proposed for adoption as an Australian Standard). Australian Appendix AA proposes variations to IEC 947-3:1990 for Australian conditions. Copies of IEC 947-3:1990 may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia office.
