Describes the location of embossed characters on identification cards of ID-1 size as specified in ISO/IEC 7810. The characters should be used to transfer data using imprinters or visual or machine reading. Defines requirements for identification cards, taking into consideration human and machine aspects, and stating minimum requirements.
