Describes content requirements for the preparation of technical manuals (TMs) covering description, operation, maintenance, installation, and parts support for Combat System Technical Operations Manuals (CSTOMs); Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Systems and Equipment Manuals; Electronic (including Service Test Electronic, Experimental Electronic, and Interior Communications [IC]) System and Equipment Manuals; and Weapon Systems and Weapon Equipment Manuals.

This specification sets forth content requirements for the preparation of technical manuals (TMs) covering description, operation, maintenance, installation, and parts support for Combat System Technical Operations Manuals (CSTOMs); Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Systems and Equipment Manuals; Electronic [including Service Test Electronic, Experimental Electronic, and Interior Communications (IC)] System and Equipment Manuals; and Weapon Systems and Weapon Equipment Manuals. The requirements are applicable for the output of paper or for the display of page-oriented, linear, and non-linear TMs on an Electronic Display System (EDS).
