Deze norm beschrijft een werkwijze volgens Rose-Gottlieb voor de gewichtsanalytische bepaling van het vetgehalte van melk, room, geconcentreerde melksoorten en melkpoeders. De methode is alleen toepasbaar indien het monster in deugdelijke staat verkeert. Indien het monster zuur is, uitgeboterd is of verschijnselen van vetsplitsing vertoont, is het resultaat van het onderzoek niet betrouwbaar.
