Dit National Application Document (NAD) geeft richtlijnen voor het gebruik in Nederland van NVN-ENV 1992-1-6 Eurocode 2 - Ontwerp en berekening van betonconstructies - Deel 1-6: Algemene regels - Constructies van ongewapend beton, alsmede de voor Nederland geldende waarden van de in NVN-ENV 1992-1-6 gegeven omkaderde waarden ("boxed values") van parameters. Bouwconstructies volgens de combinatie NVN-ENV 1992-1-6 en dit NAD, mogen geacht worden tenminste hetzelfde niveau van veiligheid en bruikbaarheid te bezitten als ingevolge 5.3 van NEN 6700. In grote lijnen kan deze combinatie als alternatief worden gebruikt voor NEN 6720. Nadrukkelijk wordt vermeld dat NEN 6720 niet is vervallen.
