Dit National Application Document (NAD) geeft richtlijnen voor het gebruik in Nederland van NVN-ENV 1993-1-2 Eurocode 3 - Ontwerp en berekening van staalconstructies - Deel 1-2: Algemene regels - Constructieve brandveiligheid, alsmede de voor Nederland geldende waarden van de in NVN-ENV 1993-1-2 gegeven omkaderde waarden ("boxed values") van parameters. Bouwconstructies waarvan de brandwerendheid met betrekking tot bezwijken is bepaald met de combinatie van NVN-ENV 1993-1-2 en dit NAD, mogen worden geacht dezelfde mate van brandwerendheid met betrekking tot de dragende functie te bezitten als bepaald volgens NEN 6072 of NEN 6069. De hierbij behorende belastingscombinaties moeten dan zijn bepaald met NEN 6702, maar mogen ook zijn bepaald met NVN-ENV 1991-2-2, met bijbehorend NAD. Nadrukkelijk wordt vermeld dat NEN 6072 en NEN 6069 hiermee niet zijn vervallen.
