Defines a method to determine dissolved magnesium and calcium by flame atomic absorption spectometry. Suited to the analysis of raw and drinking waters and can be used for waters containing not more than 5 mg/l magnesium, and 50 mg/l calcium. A smaller volume of the sample must be taken for analysis if it contains higher concentrations of magnesium or calcium.
