Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen, Prüfungen und die Kennzeichnung von Vielzweckleitern mit Gelenken fest. Die Nutzlast, der eine Leiter sicher standhält, beträgt 150 kg. Vielzweckleitern mit Gelenken sind nur von einer Person zu benutzen. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Gelenkverbindungen von Mehrzweck- und Stehleitern nach EN 131-1. Dieser Teil von EN 131 ist zusammen mit EN 131-1 und EN 131-2 anzuwenden.
