Diese Europäische Norm enthält ein Prüfverfahren hinsichtlich beschleunigter Alterung für Bitumen und bitumenhaltige Bindemittel. Das Verfahren beinhaltet die Alterung von Bindemitteln in Schalen bei erhöhten Temperaturen in einem Druckalterungsbehälter (PAV) unter Überdruck-Bedingungen. Die diesem Alterungsverfahren ausgesetzten Proben wurden zuvor in den Zustand gebracht, in dem sie im Strassenbau angewendet werden würden. Das Verfahren ist auch für modifizierte Bindemittel anwendbar.
